Peter Sutcliffe
From 1975-1980, Peter Sutcliffe, known as the Yorkshire Ripper went on a brutal murdering spree, killing 13 women - mainly prostitutes - methods including bludgeoning with a hammer and stabbing with a knife. Despite being interviewed by police several times he wasn't convicted of the murders until 1980 when he was arrested for having false number plates on his car. Once convicted of the killings he claimed he heard voices from God telling him to kill prostitutes. He is currently serving 20 life sentences and is in Broadmoor hospital being treated for schizophrenia.
